yellowcaked - Interesting name for this thread "THE TRUE BARACK OBAMA - UNMASKED".
It seems to me that the Republicans have been trying unsuccessfully to put masks on Obama,
and the public just keeps removing them since these masks just don't stick.
A perfect example of Republicans trying to put masks on Obama is in your post below:

I've been keeping a low profile so as not to stir yellowcaked's rath until we see what happens next Tuesday.
Wow! Whoever created this $3 note is one really ignorant person who doesn't even know
that Obama is an American & Christian, and not an Arab & Muslim. Check out the racist Arab
undertones: the camel, the Prince of Platitude (perhaps referring to Saudi Arabia? ) and also
the head dress on Obama (implying Obama is a Muslim).
Thanks for posting the $3 bill on this forum and and alerting us that there are some very sick
puppies amongst the Republicans. Even in my own neighborhood there were some Republican
goons who defaced early this Saturday morning Obama Signs in people's yards by changing
the letters "b" to "s".
These ignorant Republicans probably got their idea from the Sacramento County Republican Party
official website that had a violent anti-Barack Obama slogan with a picture showing Osama bin Laden
on the right, and Obama on the left, and with the following words in between "The only difference
between O
b
ama and O
s
ama is
BS
. Waterboard Barack Obama". Pretty scary stuff, eh?
Fortunately, the violent slogan was taken down at the request of the California Republican
spokesman Hector Barajas.
The McCain Camp is getting very desperate now. See article below:
"McCain can't make attacks stick to Obama"
http://www.reuters.com/articlePrint?articleId=USTRE49L51N20081025
Anyway, here is another carton by Clay Bennett depicting the futile attempts of the McCain
campaign to scare the American public.

Just remember, you're the one who brought this up Doc.
Interesting that you say Obama is a Christian.
I have been following his 'Christian' platitudes ever since he and McCain did their thing together at Rick Warren's mega church in California.
I would have to say, with fear and trembling before God, that Obama cannot possibly be a Christian.
Look at the HATE church of Jeremiah Wright that he attended for 20 years. Are we so blind as to think this could be a Christian church? It may claim to be a Protestant church, I do not live, but hate and anger are preached there. That is wrong.
Second, is the issue of abortion.
God clearly states His view on life (not death/abortion) in the Holy Scriptures.
Reference Jeremiah 1
Quote
The Call of Jeremiah
4 The word of the LORD came to me, saying,
5 "Before I formed you in the womb I knew [a] you,
before you were born I set you apart;
I appointed you as a prophet to the nations."
Clearly in the scriptures, life begins before conception, without any shadow of a doubt.
Thirdly, there is only one way in which a man or woman can become a Christian.
Only one way.
Quote
Romans 10
6But the righteousness that is by faith says: "Do not say in your heart, 'Who will ascend into heaven?'
" (that is, to bring Christ down) 7"or 'Who will descend into the deep?'[c]" (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). 8But what does it say? "The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,"[d] that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming:
9That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
10For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. 11As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame.
So, 'W', my question is this? If Barack Obama is a Christian, then how can he be in direct defiance of God's Word as written in Jeremiah?

The McCain Camp is getting very desperate now. See article below:
"McCain can't make attacks stick to Obama"
It is true that the McCain camp is getting desperate.
However, the more amazing thing is... the Obama camp NEVER ONCE has defended itself against any allegations made by McCain!!! Or anyone for that matter!!!
All the Obama camp ever says in response is "These are just the same old smear tactics." And they freaking GET AWAY with that!!! NO ONE has given them any pressure or scrutiny to actually DISPROVE anything anyone is saying about him.
Biden says to questions about Obama being a Marxist - "that's ridiculous!!" So how come no one ever says "OK, Joe... well maybe that's ridiculous... WHY IS THAT RIDICULOUS??? Prove it!!!"
If I say you are a socialist left-extreme radical self-aggrandizing money-monger... and you come back and me and all you say is "that's just a smear tactic"... umm... you haven't actually disproved me, have you???
It's absolutely ridiculous that the Obama camp can get away with this. Here's hoping a silent majority and independent-thinkers are paying more attention than the polls show...
Sorry to keep pouring fuel on the political discussions... but it's driving me crazy
I just hope I'm totally wrong about the guy if he wins. Although I know I'm not wrong about Pelosi and Reid... so I guess it doesn't really matter about Obama anyway... we're screwed no matter what...

c'mon jj. you can't really call obama a marxist. compare him to carter or hoover, or some other american politician, but not a reviled foreigner. It's disrespectful and embarrasses all americans.
the right wing just lowers the level of discourse hoping to bring the conversation down to a cartoonish punching match.
A left wing newscaster can't ask McCain: "Your policies are fascist, just like Bush's. How are you not a fascist? Please explain how your America would not be like nazi germany."
Or to Palin: "You seem to use sex as some kind of tool to mask how vacuous you are. Is this deliberate?"
I've said that if Obama doesn't win, they'd be riots. the opposite might be true. I heard sean hannity on the radio tonight on the way home from work, and i think that guy is really trying to foment violence.

hhahhah... good stuff rich
I see your point. I disagree though, b/c I think the claims laid on Obama have only been extrapolations of his very own party's policies, and his own stated policy directions-- rather than the far out cartoonish nonsense you would suggest.
I'd love to hear someone ask McCain or Palin those questions, though. Hah!!
I bet both would answer them directly though, too-- rather than just shrug and say "those are just liberal attacks." Hell they might even get angry and curse and yell. Which would be fine with me
But you know, rich, as distasteful and embarrassing as an American as it may be for you to swallow... being a marxist is kind of like being "cool" as a politically active college student-- our country's secondary educational system is full of them. I remember being at a super liberal UC school... and I'm not even talking about Berkeley. It was out of control 15 years ago... I can only imagine how bad it's gotten now since they basically run the asylum now. An asylum, being public, which is paid for with my tax dollars no less-- dollars which go directly to supporting campus political groups-- even though college charters strictly forbid financing for such groups. But that is a tangent for another day and another forum
I just guess now one of those "cool" college hunger strike socialist kids taking classes from one those whacked out belligerent college professor/ex-felons finally made his way up the political ladder to the White House. Thrilling. Maybe they'll throw a kegger party is he wins.
Anyway... I'm no fan of McCain or Palin in particular either. I think they're both total nutjobs. But they get their fair share of shredding apart already... and deservedly so. McCain has been taken to task for the last 15 years. I just ask for the same toward the other guy.
In any case... if we lose split party control of our government... the next 8 years could be really miserable for a business owner like myself living in a big city. On the risk of that frightening possibility alone... I think there is only one prudent choice for me.
Put the old man in office, and hope someone better comes along in the next 4 years to replace him.
OK, I'm done with politics. I'm sure I offended a whole bunch of people with this post... sorry about that... nothing personal

hey jj,
sounds like we went to the same school...I mean literally. I graduated from UC San Diego in 1996. That place was crawling with marxists--real marxists. I'm not a marxist, and neither is obama. I already gave my bit about taxes. I think the charge of fascism has, or I should say had, some merit against bush--at least to the extent that you could say obama is a marxist. you remember some of the (far-fetched) analogies that bush is like hitler...Thankfully all that stuff is pretty watered down now.
Obama is clinton--for better or worse. I think clinton's 8 years was better than bush's--but, that too is a story for another day.

Thanks for your help YC I am voting for Obama for president.

I know you all know where my politics lie ( just look over to the left --- get it, the "left"
).
Anyways, Obama surrounds himself with people like Larry Summers, Robert Rubin, Warren Buffett and Paul Volker.
Heck, there's even talk about Paul Volker being the next Treasury Secretary.
Mr. 18% interest rates will sure put a dent into gold!!!
These folks (along with my friend, Jason, who is your typical NYC liberal who went to Harvard) are all free market folks. They're all pro-business and pro-small business.
But they also know that a strong middle class means the US economy will have consumers with discretionary income who will buy stuff, boost the economy, raise the incoming tax revenue base and help boost general consumption, which will help the stock market which will make the uber wealthy richer without the uber wealthy having to worry about the next consumer led market crash (like what we're seeing right now). I'll take the Clinton 90's over the Bush 00's any day!
As for sidewinder, it sounds like you've made up your mind.

Obama Makes Hay of McCain Adviser's Health Care Comment
By Robert Barnes
HARRISONBURG, Va. -- Democrat Barack Obama seized on remarks made by Republican John McCain's top economic adviser today to call McCain's health care plan "radical" and "unaffordable."
On CNN today, McCain adviser Douglas Holtz-Eakin said workers who already receive health insurance from their employers would not take advantage of McCain's offer of a $5,000 tax credit to buy their own coverage.
"Why would they leave?" Holtz-Eakin asked. "What they are getting from their employer is way better than what they could get with the credit."
In a speech at James Madison University, Obama said Holtz-Eakin's remarks showed McCain's proposals would only make the health care coverage problem worse.
"We were offered a stunning bit of straight talk -- an October surprise -- from his top economic adviser, who actually said that the health insurance people currently get from their employer is -- and I quote -- 'way better' than the health care they would get if John McCain becomes president," Obama says in the speech. "Now this is the point I've been making since Senator McCain unveiled his plan.
"It took until the last seven days of this election for his campaign to finally admit the truth. But hey, better late than never."
Holtz-Eakin sent reporters a memo later in the day accusing the Obama camp of "half-truths, distortions and outright lies about health care reform."
He said Obama was distorting his words.
"The question I answered was: 'Will the young and healthy leave their generous employer-sponsored coverage as the Obama campaign claims?' My response was that, obviously, if they had better coverage, they would not change," Holtz-Eakin wrote. "The Obama campaign deliberately took the quote out of context. This continues their disgraceful campaign."
McCain has accused Obama of wanting the government to take over health care, and said his proposal for a $5,000 tax credit would allow individuals to buy the plan that suits them.
But the Obama camp says that buying coverage on the private market costs an average of $12,000.
Obama said the one area where McCain represents change is in the health care system, "but he won't change it in a good way."

There is only one version of Christianity, Doc. There may be many denominations because of their inability to agree on various doctrinal issues, but only one version of how to become a Christian.
Quote
John 14:5-7 (New International Version)
Jesus the Way to the Father
5Thomas said to him, "Lord, we don't know where you are going, so how can we know the way?"
6Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7If you really knew me, you would know[a] my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him."

I completely agree with Richmanch.
The Dems don't really deny anything with good factual evidence. They know what they want adn they have used a free pass from the media to get it. So much for true investigative reporting.

I think the radio audio from when I started this thread is the most telling of all.
It shows political leanings of Obama from when he was nobody in the Illinois legislature. He political leanings are further to the left than the Democratic Party platform planks.
You are absolutely right, however, than one party rule will be the nail in the coffin for business.

Come on Sidewinder. Be a man and put it out here. We are friends here, in the pursuit of money, anyway.
What gets me is that I belong to a number of financial forums and most people there are Republicans adn know that an Obama Presidency will be a nail in our coffins against free market principles and taxes disfavoring the rich, which each and every one of us strive to be.

Yeah, and what we also know is that much of that middle class buying has been on the back of credit cards. Those debts are slowly coming home to roost because unemployment is on the rise and credit crad companies are reporting higher than ever defaults.
