GU.V – Global Uranium Corp. – I like it

by JDH on March 10, 2007

Here’s a new one I like: GU.V – Global Uranium Corp.; you can read more about them on the Global Uranium web site.

(Just so there is no confusion, there are two companies called Global Uranium. One, called Global Uranium, is a private private Ontario corporation founded in January, 2005 by Clifford H. Frame, P.Eng., Chairman of the Board, and Stephen G. Roman, President & CEO. Their web site is globaluranium.com, and since it’s a private company, we won’t discuss it further (other than to say they intend to change their name to avoid confusion). We will be discussing the publicly traded company).

Why do I like it?

First, the chart looks good:

Global Uranium Corp.

A break out just below 60 cents has just occurred, so this looks like a great time to buy.

Second, this is a PNP.TO – Pinetree Capital Corp. holding. On March 30, 2006 Pinetree acquired ownership of 1,800,000 common shares of Global Uranium Corporation and 1,800,000 share purchase warrants. I don’t see any evidence that they have done any selling, so Pinetree is a significant shareholder. Pinetree has done a great job in the past in identifying up and coming uranium investments, so this one looks good.

Finally, it has a very low market capitalization (around $6 million Canadian), so it would be a great takeover candidate, and it wouldn’t take much buying to drive the price much higher. Global Uranium won’t be a core holding, but I think it will be a nice addition to my portfolio.
